Job Description
We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant / Front Office Receptionist to join our exceptional team. This hybrid role combines hands-on clinical support with front office operations to deliver seamless, patient-centered care in a dynamic dermatology practice. Working in a collaborative environment, and thrive in both patient interaction and administrative detail.
Clinical (Back Office) Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for exams by collecting vital signs and medical histories.
- Assist providers during examinations and dermatologic procedures.
- Perform basic laboratory testing and specimen prep.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and skincare routines.
- Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam rooms.
- Ensure accurate documentation in Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Administrative (Front Office) Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly and check them in using the EMR system.
- Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and patient communications.
- Verify insurance eligibility and handle prior authorizations when necessary.
- Collect copays and outstanding balances, maintaining confidentiality.
- Prepare documentation for visits and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Respond to phone inquiries, reschedule missed appointments, and follow up on administrative tasks.
- Maintain a clean, professional reception area to enhance the patient experience.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree or Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
1+ year of experience in a healthcare or customer service setting.
Familiarity with EMR systems and medical terminology.
Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
A compassionate, team-oriented professional with a patient-first attitude.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
